Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Backyard Birdcam collects on shop.smarternewsnow.com, how we use it and who we share it with.

What we collect

Order information: your name, email address, phone number (if given), billing address, shipping address, order notes and gift messages.
Payment: payments are processed by Whop, our payment provider, in its secure payment form, shown on our order page or on Whop’s own checkout page. Your card details go straight to Whop; we never see or store your full card number.
Browsing and advertising data: pages viewed, device and browser type, and cookies, including the Meta Pixel and the TikTok Pixel, which measure visits and purchases that come from our ads on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and Google Analytics, which counts visits to our pages.
Server logs: like most websites, our server records each request: IP address, country, the page requested, the page you came from and browser type. On our store pages it also records anonymous technical events, such as how far a page was scrolled, which questions were opened, how long the payment form took to load, whether a wallet button appeared and error codes (never card details or your email). We keep these logs for 30 days.
Checklist sign-up: if you ask for our free state bird checklist, we keep your email address and the state you chose. If you also tick the optional box, we keep the date and time you agreed to receive our new bird guides by email and which version of the wording you agreed to. We do not store your IP address with it.
Messages you send us by email.

To process, ship and support your order, including returns and warranty claims.
To send you order confirmations, tracking and replies to your messages.
To email our new bird guides, at most once a week, only to people who ticked the optional box when they asked for the checklist. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by writing to us.
To measure and improve our advertising.

We do not sell your personal information.

Whop, our payment provider, to take payment and protect against fraud. Its payment form runs Whop’s own code and cookies; see Whop’s privacy policy.
Our fulfillment partner, which ships your order: we give it the recipient’s name, shipping address and gift message.
Meta Platforms, through the Meta Pixel, and TikTok, through the TikTok Pixel, for ad measurement.
Google, through Google Analytics, for site statistics.
Cloudflare (website delivery and security) and Google (email).
Authorities, when the law requires it.

You can ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing shop@smarternewsnow.com. We keep order records only as long as the law requires.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and control ad personalization in your Facebook, Instagram and TikTok settings.
Third parties, including Meta and TikTok, may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect or receive information from this website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and to target ads. You can opt out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting at optout.aboutads.info.
Do Not Track: our site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

Our store is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
